This here is a recreation of the thread that was to help people understand men and what makes them tick.

Moving this back to public viewing since I'm pretty sure there isn't anything offensive in it. Let's keep it PG13 please.

An important thing to remember is that not all men are the same. Just like not all [X] is/are the same. It's like a box of crayons, there's many different colors. There will be similar shades and tints and tones, but none are exactly the same.

^ Very true, Ninja. Very true. I wanna confess something. In doing so, I hope this helps someone else in similar situations. I never really considered myself as a man hater. I've tried, despite my history of bad examples, not to be that girl. But some where along the way, I believe I might have regardless. <---- Huge step even admitting that. From my earliest memory I have always had a bad experience that was connected to the male gender. As much as I have forced myself into thinking it is an odd coincidence, I think.. it's been, at times, overcame with the thought of .. "MEN! WHAT THE **** IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE!?!" I think the final straw was when I received a call over year ago by Xylie's "donor" that he was unable to stop the drug use and to let another man raise her because he probably could do a better job. That was his exact words. I must admit, my instant thought was "Well. That figures.. Just like most men who chose themselves over the life they helped created.." And it's seems to be a growing epidemic. I mean.. How do I explain this to my little girl one day when she asks.. Because she is going to ask and I have to be honest. But how in the world am I going to explain this yet some how redirect the blame she will most likely pin on herself? I still have no answer to that and I'm aware that the abandonment feeling she will live with will effect her in some way or another. And that angers me. ... But as I sit here today, I have great examples of why my "Man" theory couldn't be far from the truth. Not all men are the same and I know this as I see a man who shares no DNA with her, step up and love her, takes care of her and would do absolutely anything for her. I see you Liamcifer as you take care, in every way, baby Conor and you love every minute of it. I can tell your world moves just because you have that sweet little one in your life. I see RRwatch dote on not only his children but his grandchild as well. I share stories with RHYN0X as his raises his sweet twin daughters. I see all this, plus more, and I have a hopeful feeling that Xylie will be okay. That maybe the compensation from another will balance her out. And that maybe she will someday find a mate with the same integrity as you guys and be happy either way. Not all men are the same. There are bad ones. There are good ones and there there are men like you who far exceed my expectations and I thank you for that.

I really don't understand how some men don't want to be in their childrens lives. For me, it's not a job, it's not a right, it's not "something I have to do". It's a privilege. I am blessed to have kids. I am blessed to be able to share in their lives. They enrich, brighten, cheer-up, and even encourage goodness in me, every day. I would do anything for them, I would give up anything for them... so again, how anyone can choose themself over their kid(s), I will never, ever, understand. When I hear of "bad dads (or moms)", it makes me so angry... honestly, I'm at a loss for words, because it just such raw emotion - it makes me angry!

Being a father is hard. Specially when the kids get sick.

When I hear of "bad dads (or moms)", it makes me so angry... honestly, I'm at a loss for words, because it just such raw emotion - it makes me angry! The sad thing is, it happens a lot. But not just from Dads.. My boss is taking it all on with his 4 babies. Their Mom got a new boyfriend and suddenly she doesn't have time to be ... a mom. I don't understand. And as far as my situation is concerned.. I can be mad or sad or whatever emotion I feel from day to day but it's nothing to what I'm afraid my little Punky will experience one day when she learns the truth about it. And that infuriates me to the core. Being a father is hard. Specially when the kids get sick. Yes. A sick baby puts parenting into overdrive. And it's sad. There's only so much you can do. Cuddles. Extra cuddles seems to work more than any medicine or Doctor visit. I hope he gets to feeling better soon.

We never Grow Up, Growing up is over-rated, we just learn to manage our childish behavior to where we can act like total idiots one moment but still be able to act mature when it is completely necessary.

Nah my finger. You have to really interact with the object and a stick is all like creating barriers.

I work around mostly women and a lot of times I'm the least masculine person of the group.

Honestly what i'm looking for in a woman is someone who blows me away. I want her to laugh at the stupid things I do, and make me laugh. I want her and I to feel the same way about each other with an unbreakable bond of trust. We do almost everything together. I never want to be apart from her. I don't want her to get annoyed when I tell her how beautiful she is and hug her all of the time. I don't want to be one who is starry eyed when the other is looking for a way out. I go for it. I've lost every time, but I still believe that she is out there. Otherwise get me drunk....... I'm easy.. :-P
