I realize that there are a limited few who watches this kick ass show ... Maybe 2? Me.. Being one of them... But I wanted to make a thread in hopes maybe I can get my Nationites interested. Not only is commercial fishermen have the deadliest job in the world, they work their asses off all respecting a code that has been passed down for generations. If you are not an adv-it watcher, feel free to post anyway. Also.. This is the 100th thread on Sixth Nation 2.0  |

I watched the show a couple of times and enjoyed it. I've had a few buddies who went to Alaska to work either at fisheries, oil rigs and pipelines or boats and made some good bucks. I saw an excerpt on Talk Soup last week where some guy had ripped open his hand bad enough that they had to go to shore, the Captain was more excited about the Football scores he was getting then the crew member with his hand mangled screaming in pain. It was humorous the way it was portrayed.

YaY! Someone posted in my "ghost town" thread. 
Yes. I know ecactly what episode you are talking about. It was a deckhand from The Time Bandit during a Seattle Seahawks game.
But I can say just by all the espisodes I have watched, for the most part, the Captains as well as the crews are all about safety. They estimate that on average,1 fisherman per week loses their life doing this.
I have lived just a little over an hour away from the Alantic Ocean my entire life, until now, and I have never went deep sea fishing. Why? Because I know just how easy it is to have motion sickness, so I can only imagine just had bad I would have sea-sickness. 
Looks like a great adventure and a pocket full of money to boot, but I'll just settle on enjoying it on my t.v. screen and on my dinner table.  |

I have gotten hooked into the show. Get it. Hooked. Im hooked in....to........the  These are the jokes people. I will also say I watch this, and think it would be neat as hell to do. It looks like hell. It really does. But one or two months of solid work and I walk away with 30k dollars. Not to mention seeing a side of nature I really havent. We dont have any oceans round here in the midwest. If I were only a younger Six.  |
