by early on I mean anywhere from day 1 to end of the holidays.
I missed out on preordering (had to cancel mine due to moving to another state) and I have the money set aside for it, and plan on getting one as soon as I possibly can. (PS4 that is) and my room mate will likely get an xbox one close to release as well.

I'm going to be waiting for a bit, child's first birthday and Christmas this year so I'll be waiting, maybe in February. I'm not even getting a Christmas present this year. For anyone.

Waiting until Jan/Feb for my PS4. Gives me time to see if there are any issues with the hardware... red rings/yellow lights of death, fire, etc.

Gives me time to see if there are any issues with the hardware... red rings/yellow lights of death, fire, etc. I've never been an "early adopter" of any technology for just that reason. I'm not seeing any games that are MAKING me buy this when it comes out either. I'll sit on the sidelines a bit and see how it goes. I do look forward to reading PS4 impressions from nobody.

RRwatch instead of capitalizing nobody put the @ sign right before it. my reasons for not wanting you guys to capitalize my name goes far beyond puns or the confusion is creates. regardless of the reasons as to why any of you do it I see it as an intentional misspelling of my name. which I take as being as mild as just being disrespectful to it being a personal attack. I realize you guys dont see it this why so I am informing you. so that you do understand. I am not even certain why it bothers me so much but it does. I would much rather have to deal with people speaking in all caps, or 1337 speak, or really terrible grammar or any of those things because those are impersonal. But using a capital N on my name is far far worse to me. SO PLEASE STOP CAPITALIZING THE N ON NOBODY!

But using a capital N on my name is far far worse to me. SO PLEASE STOP CAPITALIZING THE N ON NOBODY! Alright, Nobby. You asked for it. Nobs, ol' buddy, if you can't even understand why it bothers you, then how could you expect anyone else to? It's great that for you it's "far beyond puns and confusion" but it still creates those for everyone else. People aren't going to deal with that if they don't have to. They aren't going to make a special exception, N0l30D3. Now, nobbers, you have presented a "solution" here with the @. But you can't make people use it. It's not your place or mine to try to do so. Or should the admins issue a decree on your behalf? "Since nobody really cares about their name, then everyone should be considerate of nobody"? Now, n0BODY, it's entirely possible that they will take up using the @ anyway, and if so that's great. It seems a useful feature even outside of this odd fixation of yours, noobboy. But if not and it still bugs you, well, it's not everyone else that has a problem here. The real problem is that you see people using your name in a normal way as a personal attack, when that makes no sense whatsoever. You're a smart guy, so concentrate on how irrational that is and please try to get over it. Otherwise, the only solution I can see will be for you to "change" your name to Nobody so that it is no longer somehow insulting to you.

CobaltMonkey you know me well enough to know how uncharacteristic this is of me, so that should make the following that much more impactful. f*** you. Thats also basically what your last post said to me. I may not know the cause (I am not a psychologist) but I know the effect. and I was not forcing anyone to use forum features. I was letting people know how it bothers me, and asked them to out of respect for a fellow user here that if they are going to make a minor adjustment to my name to do it a certain way. it is not any harder to put the @ then it to cap the n. and most of the other ways you found to spell my name I am sure took a lot more effort on your part, and yet you never once used the one 1 I requested.

Just so you know the capitalized 'N" was not meant as any disrespect. I think I did it so it would demonstrate it was a name which are normally capitalized and therefore not be taken as a pun of sorts. I did not put a lot of thought into it but I was certainly was not trying to screw with you in ANY way. it can get a bit confusing using "nobody" Maybe your @ nobody will catch on. I do have some paralysis in my hands from my spinal injuries so typing is not my forte, it IS easier to hit the shift key with my left hand than my right , but I will try to use @ if I remember or just not capitalize it .

yea, I realize that you likely werent likely following the other topics where I mentioned this as well. and had no clue that this was the 3rd time very recently that I have mentioned it. It is just something that has been bothering me more and more every time I see it. and also why I added it to my sig. so those that dont see those posts are aware. CobaltMonkey on the other hand I know has seen all those posts. and is the worst offender.

And why didn't I? Because you are already aware of this thread. There's no reason to call your attention to it. And no, coming up with nicknames took zero effort on my part. I simply did it as I typed. I will avoid nicknames in the future. But I can't/won't promise never to commit this cardinal sin of capitalization. It's the same thing that happens to the name of every other English-speaking person on Earth, so I just don't see it changing. Again, I have to ask why everyone else should change the way they handle a single proper name when it really seems like the adjustment is yours to make? I guess you're right that putting @ isn't any harder than N, if you completely ignore a lifetime of using capitalization in every other possible instance. It's just how people naturally tend to avoid mistakes when dealing with names that are also words, something you chose to do and can choose to change at any time. You may not be trying to force other users to use specific software, but you're sure making a big deal out of it when they don't. And now the "work" part of this, which I don't much like. Do not address other forum members, admin or no, with that kind of language and attitude. I will give this permission to absolutely everyone on the forum: Come to my PM box and say whatever you want. Curse at me, insult me. I don't care (though even there you still have to abide by the rest of the forum's rules. Ie, no porn and such). I'm perfectly happy to be your bad guy. But don't do it to anyone else's PM box, and keep it off the open forum. And since we've gone wildly off topic, I would request that any further unrelated conversation be taken to PM.

Haven't seen this much turmoil over the n word since well....the N word. No hurry to get PS4. If it were backward compatible, my sweet ass wife would probably get it for me. If it is, enlighten me, so the aforementioned can find it for me.

Not backwards compatible, so you wouldn't be able to play your current games. But there is something in the works to make up for it, I believe. A streaming service for older titles. Won't be available on launch, last I heard. I'd take a wait and see approach if that's something that's important to you.

Cloud Streaming Emulation or something. I don't think I will be going for that, already bought all my games, not going to be rebuying them again.

If they can take the information from your PSN account proving you played a PS3 game and charge you a small fee for the emulation I might go for it. Nobody really knows how they are going to handle it. By the time I have my PS4 as my main system, my PS3 may not be running on a big screen.

I will be waiting awhile to get the ps4 . I missed my chance for pre orders and I would rather not deal with day one crowds.
I don't foresee the cloud service being operational for a year or two. What I would like to see is a integration with the plus service. Something along the lines of if you are a plus member you get access to the cloud server and the library of games . I wouldn't like to see them just throw the games back up for re purchase unless heavily discounted , like steam summer sale discounted

All I thought of when I read this.... "Here's my impression of a PS4; Beep, whirrrr, beep, boop, zzzt" nobody - I know some issues won't present themselves for a year or 2, that's a risk I'm willing and abel to take, but the immediate ones are the ones that scare me. Example: Some Xbox 360's litterally caught fire at their release. I'm expecting few issues as they are using PC tech now (tried and true), and a standard running temp of 5 to 35 degrees C, as per specs. As I said though, I'll wait a couple months.

I want to buy it for the interface as much of the games. I ave very fond memories of the early PS3 days when things were so basic. lacked so many features, and games. having things like trophies and in game XMB became that much more awesome because I had used the system for so long without those features. I also remember playing heavenly sword demo 200.5 times. it was a short and fun demo I just loved the combat so much. I had a running tally on my comment on PSN of how many times I played it. and it even glitched once and wouldnt let me progress to the 2nd half of the demo (hence the .5). I also played the crap out of games like PAIN and super star dust HD, and competed with friends for high scores because there wasnt a wide selection if games to play I couldnt just jump from 1 release to the next. I really dug in and enjoyed the ones I did have. and now the PS4 has resogun and knack. both games simple on the surface with tons of content to delve deep into.

I couldn't agree with you more, on so many fronts. I too played the hell out of the Heavenly Sword demo... not 200.5 times, but a lot! I got a tonne of use out of both Pain and Super Stardust, heck I still play Super Stardust now and then. I am looking forward to Resogun and Knack as well. I looke forward to what you have to say when you finally have the console in your hands!
