I'm looking forward to playing Knack. I like that it's simple, back to the roots ,and still posses a challenge. I look forward to more reviews on Friday, to see if :everyone else" agrees since I won't be playing until spring.

reviews for this game are pretty low, but actually reading them it seems like a lot of people didnt know what to expect. here is a basic summary of most of the reviews I read.
general consensus is that the story is not good. It has a strong story it tries to tell, but it has bad voice acting, and and story itself is not that interesting. I think every review I read had the story as a negative. and about half of them had the story as its only negative. Some listed the combat as what makes knack amazing, others thought the combat was too simple and basic. and plenty of people thought the game was far too punishing. (enemies do a lot of damage and infrequent checkpoints). Some reviews kocked it for being a linear game. (these are people that I dont think understood the type of game. I dont think a game should be knocked for not being open world, as it is simply a style of game)
Overall the game is more or less exactly what I was expecting based on reviews. I have my copy, and am just waiting to pick up my ps4 in a few hours to actually play it.

so damn awesome. pretty much exactly what I wanted it to be. super challenging, but super rewarding.
1 thing that is a little different then i expected is how he grows. its not dynamic. so you dont just destroy stuff and you grow. its more like a complicated health system where there are health packs at certain spots and they effect you in certain ways depending on various factors. once you accept that then alls good.
also the game kinda feels like that feeling in rpgs where you go through an area in the beginning and weak enemies seem so powerful, then you come back later once your stronger and just steamroll right over them. except much more accelerated. youll start a lot of levels off small, and at some point you'll fight what is basically a miniboss, then through the level youll get bigger, and eventually that same mini boss will be equivalent to a weak enemy you just one shot, and the other enemies that you used to be able to one shot will now just run from you, and you can kill them just by touching them,

I hope you plan on writing a full review once you beat it? When you are you going to make a vid?
Sounds fun, and like a change of pace from the usual FPS or RPG these days.

it kind of reminds me of a combination of D souls, and hotline Miami, with some crash thrown in.
also in a lot of reviews they mentioned that there isnt really any platforming, yet the developers always refer to it as an action platformer, and today I realized knack merges its platforming with its combat. there isnt a whole of of terrain navigation. it is mostly just jumping up simple ledges. but you spend a great deal of combat maneuvering over and around enemy attacks to get close, you are essentially doing the same thing in combat as you would in an older 3d platformer. except instead of traps its various types of enemy attacks, and this game has a ridiculous variety of ways enemies attack you.
also a full review is not likely, but you can count on more in depth content then what I have posted so far.
