This is a call to all!
What is the Sixth Nation of Gamers?
I had one main reason for creating the community that is The Sixth Nation.
Really, it had many purposes for me. But there was always one main goal. To build a place for a solid community of gamers from all titles and all consoles to come together and meet, talk,... do the things communities like that do. I had found that while corporate/sponsored sites designed around just one game series or console were fun and filled with great people, they were prone to sudden change, were over crowded, or too stuffy. In that there is change in membership. They would fill and empty as the games came and went. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, but the fluctuations just bugged me. I wanted to make a place where all my friends and any others could go with out concern of such things. It only changes when we change it. It only ends when we stop logging in. There is no reliance on one game, its console, and their staff.
Just the community.
You see......it's on our terms now.
Friends I have met from all around my gaming adventures came in support. I thank you all.
It would not be what it is with out that.
As all things new, we started small, a little uncertain, and in a forum that echoed after every post that's how empty it was.
We have done some growing. We have gained some experience. As of this edit, we have made a big move and brought our forums to a new host where we can now offer our users some of the features we could not have done at our previous location. This was not done on a whim. After bringing the idea to the active user base at the time a vote was cast for all to vote in. It meant leaving a lot behind. It also brought excitement for what may lie ahead. You may not guess by looking as the construction dust settles, but I can say the groundwork is pretty well laid down and we continue to find new ways to offer content not found in most other "gaming" communicates and we try to promote a fun, safe, and unique side to gaming often left to they way side in the competitive arena of the online world.
I've seen with my own eyes how great a forum can be when the community itself lays the foundation and constructs a fun forum with the tools given to them. I'm relying on the idea that a forum built and designed around the users and for the users, will have a continued user base, and room to always grow. Your participation in the community is vital. Through every post. Through every idea. Through every contribution we continue to grow. That comes from you. Im just one guy on an Admin panel. Im just one voice. Together...we make a louder voice.
No matter how you found us, we hope you enjoy your stay. Stick around. Tell your buddies to swing by.
The goal is one!
To build a Nation of Gamers, divided by nothing, but united in a belief that with good friends, solid community involvement, and just good fair fun gaming that every goal can be reached, and all things can be built to outlast.
