For all discussion regarding trading through steam. (Including TF2 items) to start things off I need the prison architect steam summer card. I have three Dead Island, two Skyrim and one Tomb Raider extra and I'm looking for Chivalry, Football Manager and Kerbal Space Program for the Summer Getaway Badge.
I also have a few duplicate Dota 2 items I'd be willing to trade/give away.

so you have prison architect? I'll trade you my extra chivalry, and rues, skyrim, tomb raider, or torchlight (1 of those, which ever you want)
youd be exchanging something you only have 1 of for something else you would then only have 1 of, but youd also be gaining an additional card to trade with someone to help get everything.
EDIT: to clarify I am saying you get chivalry + 1 of the 4 other ones.

did you get what I was offering? youd be losing 1 card you have the only copy of, and gaining 1 card you dont have. so you would still maintain the same amount of cards. it would just be a different one. so it wouldnt really change anything for you, and for doing that I am offering you another card on top of that, which you dont need but can still be used for trading, making it easier for you to trade with someone else for what you do need. basically all thats happening is your gaining another duplicate. and I am willing to offer up to 2 of them (so it would be a 3:1 trade in your favor)

And since you appear to be willing to trade so much just to get it, it seems like the move valuable item, or at least one that's more troublesome to get.  It's not, of course. There are roughly as many on the market place as any other card from the set (~30,000 starting at $.13). Still, I can see where Az is coming from. Even though you are offering a good deal, it just feels counter-productive to get rid of something you'll just have to get again. |

its just the final card I need. and it is not counter productive for him. he is not losing a card he needs, he is keeping the same amount, and gaining a duplicate or 2 for trading.

If she has to get that card again she is. You're not changing the number of cards she needs, only the specific ones. And in some cases, though likely not this one, some cards will be harder to get than others.
Fun Fact: I just sold two extra cards dropped from playing games for a whole $.33 in about 5 minutes total between posting them. I could go buy two of the cards I need with that now if I wanted. Going to hold out until my buying/voting's done though.

its not changing anything as far as how many az needs. sure there is a chance the next one az gets is chivalry and it will be wasted, but there is an equal chance of it being another prison card. by maintaining the same amount of different cards, and increasing the variety of your duplicates you are increasing the chance of having something someone else needs, meaning you can more easily find someone who can do a more traditional trade and get what you still need.
though i just bought skyrim so lets see what cards that nets me

This happens a lot between us. usually through steam though. |
