I started playing MP more last night and learned real quick to search for non-party games. but yeah I learned from others on my teams to plant nail bombs around supplies and highly traveled areas

Gah, this mp can be frustrating when going solo. I came up against a good team tonight and got my but handed to me. They were strategically placing nail bombs, crafting tons of molotovs and always had an upgraded melee weapon to insta-kill me with if I went in for a fist fight, learnt a lot from that game nonetheless. Also, the blast radius of the nail bomb is astounding, I would sprint well clear and still get half killed by them. Were you playing in the regular playlist or no parties playlist? If not the latter then always play no party when going solo. If you go to the regular you'll most likely end up with 2-3 randoms who don't know what a party is.I hate the idea of going back to day one if I fail a 100% challenge, the idea of the clan-system is solid (keeping your clan alive with supplies) but it takes forever to reach week 12, for someone going for the platinum, if I were to get reset I would most probably give up on the game. I thought that way too, but its actually not all that hard. I don't know what missions you're doing, but if you need to pass them play with friends and heal or gift craft. Marking is also a good mission, but 2 times is the max otherwise the numbers get insane. The multiplayer is fun enough but it isn't wholly my type of game (slow paced, tough ranking system), I would say that I still prefer U2 multiplayer simply because of the faster pacing, although I have played that game much longer and if I were to play TLOU for 10+ days and improve a lot as a player then maybe that conclusion will change. This game to me, is better than U2, sure, there's still a lot of crap that happens because of lag or bad connections, but its fundamentally sound, there's no stupid overpowered loadout/booster, weapons are balanced, and its all good. The slower pace makes it better than most games because it promotes teamwork more than other games. If you don't stick together you're gonna get beat in this game. Also, just a question, how is the ranking system tough? I've made it through 3 12 weeks and the last one I didn't even try because I had both of my trophies. Its not a tough progression, it just takes time.Replies are in red.

I do find the clan system to be a little frustrating, especially in how often it attacks you with the Hunters/fireflies, and even if you get all the challenges and more it still kills 20 people, how am I supposed to get passed 120 people when in the final weeks it berates you with those attacks. *
But otherwise its pretty unique, I like how the multiplayer is connected to the whole theme and story of the whole game and this game does it perfectly. And I still don't know how the leveling system works, if the symbols just gets more f***ed up or if there is an end...

I decided to play this for a few hours today and it started to get pretty fun. However after an hour or two it can get pretty repetitive. I mean, all of the firefights seem to occur around the same areas. I try to go for a different approach when starting off the level, but it always seems to make you more exposed than usual(mostly due to lack of cover). Anyone have some decent flanking strategies to employ on certain maps?? Lakeside or university for example??

I do like the MP to a point. I wish I could be on my Mic but when I play my gf is sleeping so I have to go ninja style which sucks since communication is huge. I need to get my firefly and hunter trophies to plat this bad boy and even though I'm insane busy I want to get it. Now that I've done all of my SP stuff I'm down for some MP if you catch me on TLOU.
The level system confuses me as well. The symbols mean nothing that I can see aside from a ridiculous amount of time playing. There's no level meter to see where you are or how you are progressing to the next level or even what the benefit is. There's more benefit to collecting the blue supply pickups from fallen enemies since that gives you all of your unlocks.
Anyhow, I think I'll be doing some MP tomorrow night or Tuesday night. Lastly Jolli - that sig is hilarious!

Not sure what you're on about - we had some great matches tonight and some good laughs with Tekkenz and Tripleskater. The Quad bagging on the ledge @ the university was legendary. Diabeetus bomb death ftw! Good times, for sure

I would be up for some TLOU mp too, although the mp doesn't grab me like other games (probably because I play solo way too much), I do end up having fun when I am in a decent team. I have had all sp trophies as of a few weeks ago so the fact that I am still no closer to the plat should say it all. Although in that time I have beaten a number of games and am now only 1-2 hours from platting inFAMOUS 2, I would say once I have that plat I will be playing a lot more TLOU mp .

I said that thinking that my internet was gonna be hella buggy for the rest of the night, but I guess not. even though that one match on Uni was probably the best smoke bomb I've ever thrown in my life.
