I had the most mental game last night. We were in the Highschool science lab coming through opposite door to to opposition (near the stairs, balcony on the right). I get downed by a bow and next minute smokebombs and nail bombs start flying everywhere... along with a multitude of bullets. In the chaos my teammate manages to pick me back up and I start blindly shooting with the 9mm. The smoke clears and I'm standing in the middle of a pile of bodies made up of all four opponents and my three teammates. I can't even begin to describe the laughing fit that followed.

^^^ I just got this. Anyways I am finally near the end of this game after playing it twice and having my PS3 crap out when I was about three quarters done. I missed a toolbox in a shiv door at The University of Northern Colorado err.. I mean Eastern Colorado... Go Rams!! I probably wont do another playthrough for a while though as much and I enjoyed the game and story. I am so tired of sneaking around and I'm starting to hate scavenging even more. Anyone else feel this way after a couple of playthroughs? or does the harder difficulty make it less tedious?

Well I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 playthroughs, the harder difficulties have this intensity to them not present on normal and easy, crafting materials are so scarce that it felt much more like a survival game which I really liked. Also, I have to add that you will get tired of a game if you stretch it out for too long, I was done with TLOU singleplayer in just over a week of solid playtime, I was in the middle of all the hype and I just kept playing and playing. If you are taking this long to beat a game you are going to have more issues than if you had got it finished in a much shorter period (e.g a week). I'm not placing any blame here, just pointing out the fact that your issues are most probably linked to the long breaks you have had from playing the game. It happens to everyone. Oh and when I played the game on launch day I was about to beat it day one when I experienced the autosave glitch literally 20mins from the end of the game, it forced me back to the beginning of Pitsburgh (6 hours of progress lost) , luckily I recovered from that. So technically I had a similar outcome to you, Rr, in this respect. (although there is a big difference between a dying PS3 and a glitch )

Thanks Mitch ! Thats a good point about stretching it out. TLOU was very hard on my old PS3( its hard on my new PS3) After I had to take apart the bluray which killed itself trying to read the double layered Blu-ray disc. I played in very short stretches. I am averaging about 15 hours of play per game so I guess I have at least 40 hours in it stretched out over a month.. It takes a long to set up when you play in short stretched too !/

One thing that is putting me off about the game is the fact that I can't seem to just jump into it, I feel like I either have to Play it as much as I can or atleast sink in a minimum of 4-6 hours. I dont know what it is...

Create a separate save point to use after the first fifteen minutes and start from there whenever you need too.

How are people liking the new mode ? I haven't been able to play a lot of the multiplayer lately... infact I think I haven't touched it in three weeks... Anyways, I'm waiting for the DLC announcment (that they promised by August 20th...)But I might be on tonight if anybody is game.

I've nearly finished my play through on survival mode and all I can say is... it's not really that hard. You've just gotta go for as many headshots as possible and save as much ammo as possible for the tough parts. Shotguns and fire for the infected. Handguns and stealth for the men. Usually you can get away with stealth in almost any situation when confronting men.
So much fun without listen mode though

Is there anything new on the multiplayer other than the same games over and over and over again?

I just got the The Last of Us: Left Behind. It has pretty solid reviews biggest complaint is it is too short coming in at around 3 hours or so. This is one game that left me wanting and wishing I could still explore and play it I really had some emotional investment in the characters. Hopefully it will grab me by the heart once again.

Been hearing a lot that it is too short for the cost of it as a DLC.

Thats not true, atleast... I don't think its true. This DLC is worth every. Penny. of the price you pay. And this is coming from a guy that doesn't buy a lot of DLC's. Mostly due to them rarely being anything but a mediocre mishmash of a games elements put together to satisfy the hunger of gamers.
There is just something about it. the best word I've come up with so far to describe it, is that its beautiful. Beautiful in story, aesthetics and characters and all of the above.
