Specter Armor is everything I thought it would be. ^_^
I barely have to dodge now. I can't tank like you seem to be able to, but I can as long as I keep the magic going I pretty much don't die.
Waited until just at dusk and started a Pumpkin Moon. It's similar to an invasion, but has waves. I survived the whole night, mini-bosses and all, but I couldn't finish it. I have the survivability, but not the DPS.
SO! I'm calling for backup. Who wants to take this on with me?

I got to one pumpkin but the sun came up before i could attack more , He hits super hard and he dropped nothing :C
I would be up for teaming up , but im not sure how to connect with out using a already existing server

Who's free when? We can all try to take this on at once.
It's easy enough. The host gives out their IP address, and the joiners type that in like you did for the server.

Oh, it used to be more complicated to host by far. You can thank the big patch for its current simplicity. 8 PM...what time zone? My apologies if I've asked this before. I can never remember where everyone is. I'm in Central. Anyone who wants in, I suggest we all bring as many Pumpkin Medallions as we can. That does mean some farming of Hardmode bosses for Hallowed Bars, Hardmode Dungeon farming for Ectoplasm, and pumpkins are easy enough to get. Today I happened to get a Paladin's Shield to drop, which I don't mind loaning to whomever is the best tank. Not like it's much use in single player aside from its high defense. Way I see it, we could set up a good healer/tank combo with 2 or 3 people at least. None of the enemies I fought could fly, mind you I haven't seen the whole of them something called "Pumpking" I think was just about to spawn when daybreak hit. So, what I'm thinking is that we have me (or another Specter magic user) on a suspended platform high up. From there I can rain down my defense-lowering golden goodness onto the enemies and heal whomever is the lowest on health at the same time (also have a Magnet Sphere now which is great for regen/damage). The trees can still hit me, but I expect that they'll be busy with the tank(s) most of the time. And if the tanks have Vampire Knives, then it's even better. Can't get keys (or Molds now) to drop for anything.  Anyone have suggestions on that? I've tried farming with Water Candles, Battle Potions, and Bloodmoons, but still no luck. |

I am free anytime on monday or later. also id love the paladin shield. (it is why i spent that time in the dungeon.) and we both know i am a great tank. i'd take like 1 damage per hit from all damage transferred to me.
i've also got at least 1 full stack of hallowed bars (99) might have 2. and a decent amount of ectoplasm. (how much is needed)
EDIT: ive got 171 hallowed bars, and 1 ecto. also when i logged in i killed 1 werewolf. it dropped a moon charm. so if anybody want it....

Shield's yours then. Oh, also were you still missing a piece of Frost Armor? I have a spare set I can share.
If you have any spare Vitamins or Trifold maps, I'd like to trade for them. Working towards an Ankh Shield and that's all I'm missing. If not, then I'm not too worried about it.
That offer's open to anyone, btw. I've got several spares of most of the other ingredients I'm happy to trade if possible, give away if not.
Each Medallion requires 10 Hallowed Bars, 5 Ectoplasm, and 30 Pumpkin.
I have 161 Hallowed Bars, 2 Ectoplasm, and 144 Pumpkin, in addition to 1 ready Medallion.
Looks like the Ectoplasm is what needs the most farming at least between the two of us. How about you, J? Or anyone else?
Hmm. Looks like I've got two new trophies to go after too. One from the trees and one from the Pumpkings. But both will only drop those in the final wave. They can drop any of their other stuff whenever though.
I know that they changed it so that you need to craft keys. I was saying that nothing will drop for me, be it keys before the change or molds now. Just not having any luck is all.
I've looked at meteor farms, and I guess that might be what I have to do. Pain in the neck though.

I am in EST , and I think I have 8 ectoplasam , 70+ bars , and 40 pumpkins ( most of my world is covered in corruption lol ) I have no problem farming for some more ectoplasam. I would like to get the avenger emblem to finally build my magma gloves , but the wall isn't dropping any of the 3 emblems .
I I'll check my stash to see what extra accessories I have, I think I need a megaphone and the nazor ( spelling ?) for the ankh shield .
I read on line some one got the molds from a pirate invasion. I don't know how much creditability I would give that though .

You should try making a bunch of imbuing potions to help maximize dps.
if I get another set of class emblems from the wof I can boost my dps to some pretty crazy levels. I'm currently sitting at about 35% boost without potions. I might be able to get it over 50%.

Pirate invasion would be a good way to get it. It doesn't matter what enemy you kill only what biome your in when they die.

Btw jaded the magma gloves are amazing. On top of the nice stat boosts and catching enemies on fire and the bonus damage from that, it adds a fire effect which means all melee weapons get light from fire. Makes the knives even brighter, and even mining tools create light.

Finally got my gloves with the help of a monkey  and man they are awesome , Also reforged my knives into godly with one try of only 60 gold lol ( i got super lucky there ) Good playing with you cobalt and we got so close :C . I will try to be on monday night so we can all take a crack at it , it should be a breeze with nobody with us . |

Round 14, man. Just one short. If our buffs hadn't run out we still might not have made it, but could definitely have made it to the final round.
I think that if you do what you did tonight, nobody gets the Paladin's Shield to keep the Pumpking aggro on him while he stands on the second level of the arena, and whenever a Pumpking comes in I move up top for rain and debuffing (not to mention the damage they'll be taking from his Turtle Armor), we should be able to cut through them like butter.
Only other possible problem I see is from the Horsemen, which don't like to take a lot of damage and move quickly. But with two sets of Nimbus clouds, 3 Frost Hydra (Yeah, I finally got a mold!), and two fans of Vampire knives, they should fold quickly enough too.

not to mention my rainbow gun (which maybe I should lend to you as its a magic based weapon)

May have my own Rainbow gun by tomorrow. Got a nice AFK farm set up, which has netted me two Crimson Molds while I was out today over 6 hours. Moved it to the Hallow, and am going to leave it running.
Don't think I'll be able to make the Vampire Knives work for me so well without a large reforge of my accessories into melee damage. Without that they won't be able to heal as quickly as my Specter healing. And with two clouds and a hydra generating effortless, constant healing in addition to my own casting's healing, I generally do okay, so long as I can control the terrain I fight in.

why would you try to use the vamp knives? sounds like youd be trying to get them just for the sake of getting them. the only reason they are so good is because of life regen, but your armor does the same basic thing without having to change anything. there is literally no reason to try to use it. also tuesday might be better. I will still have time on monday, but more later in the evening. I have got other things i have to do throughout the day.(tuesday wednesday and thursday are all good.) I am getting on right now though im mostly going to experience the other halloween stuff, make an attemot at the event to see how far I can get, then farmo mats for our group thing. That's kind of what I just said. That they can't do as well for me what they do for you. I did get them just to get them. You talk like I could have a chest in my world and somehow not open it. Are you feeling okay? If the wiki's correct, that Discount Card's 20% off Reforges as well. Now, that's useful. Time for some pirate invasions, methinks. IIRC, Jaded said he couldn't play until after his 9:00 PM anyway, so that's not a problem. |
