nope, but i have legendary staff of hydra, and godly true night's edge
skip to about 1 minute 13 seconds on 2nd vid
except my hydra does 118 and my nights edge does 95. Also the hydra is way more awesome then what the guy in that video is aware of.
also i have a crimson key, but no crimson chest. ive loaded several worlds, and explored the dungeons. im having crappy luck. so if anyone has a crimson chest can i use it? it will be a red and maybe black as well, colored chest. and you wont be able to open it without the key (obviously)
EDIT: nvm I found a crimson chest, and in it was the vamp knives

Here's some tips from back on the first page that can help get you started. Read these and see if there's anything you'd like us to expand on. SixHousePull Hey, look! I found a tutorial. That is a great question. I have no idea. If anyone here has a suggestion, I'm all ears. Good tips, Nobody. I'll expand on them a little bit to cover some of the less obvious stuff. It's a good game, but it's not beginner friendly. 1. Satisfying various conditions makes people show up. You'll need to build them houses. If a house is missing something, open up your menu with Escape and click on the little House Icon in the top right corner, then click inside the house itself. The game will tell you what you're missing. Once it's complete they will move in. Click on the house icon again to return the cursor to normal. 2. When building a housing unit, don't forget to put a wall in the background. Dirt walls won't work. 3. Use a hammer to pick up things like chests (if they're empty) or workstations you've made and move them to where you want. 4. Hover over anything while holding down Shift to use an applicable tool on an object without having to equip it. For example, holding it over some nearby dirt while you have a pickaxe in your inventory will automatically use it to mine that dirt away. When you release it you'll go back to having whatever you had equipped. 5. There are a couple of hotkeys. H will automatically use any Healing Potions you have in your inventory. Once you have made one (which I'm sure you all saw in the vid up there)the E key will automatically use the grappling hook. 6. Building a bed, placing it in a house, then right clicking on it will set it as your spawn point. Whenever you die or load the game you'll pop up there. Otherwise you just end up in the middle of the world just as when you started the game. 7. Without certain items, there IS falling damage. Watch your step. That should help out you newbies a little bit without giving too much away. If you have any questions just ask. Okay, not quite. I can help you out a bit more though. If you want later (and if we can get it to work) I can give you a little tour of my own world to show you what's what. Otherwise, I'll leave these here. Go under the general guideline, "If you see something, then there's something you can do to it." Example, see a tree? You can cut it down with an ax. Why would you do that? To get some wood to build things out of. See the ground? You can dig it up with a pickax and build things out of that too. You'll notice another NPC around your starting area, a Guide. If you talk to him you'll see a Craft option under his dialog box. Click that to see a blue square below it a ways. Now drag any item from your inventory (let's say that wood you got out of the tree) into the box. The guide will tell you what you can make with it. As far as actually making anything, you'll need a crafting station of some kind to make most things. The simplest of these is a Workbench. Make one of those and you'll be able to make all kinds of things like doors, background walls, tables, chairs, etc. Opening your inventory is done by pressing Escape. Press it again to close it. The bottom left of the screen will show the things you can craft depending on what is in your inventory and how close you are to any craft stations that you can use that stuff with. As far as building a structure, it's as easy as selecting a material in your hotbar and clicking where you want it to go (within your character's reach). Want a wooden house? Place wood until you have the shape of house you want. Easy as that. If you want to see in darkness you'll need something to produce light. Torches are the simplest thing. Kill a slime for some gel, combine it with wood. Ta da. Torch. You can also place torches by clicking where you want them. They are permanent and never go out, so don't worry about that. That's as much as I'd prefer to share because I don't want to ruin the experience of discovery. Fortunately, there's plenty more that those very few basics.

umm i dont know were to start! what kind of armor/weapons do you have and what NPCs are in your world? generally 1st you want to mine for iron or better gear while collecting any hearts you come across, and get a work bench, anvil and furnace. then build housing for NPCs. I'll put a video showing specifics on the requirements for housing at the end of the post. how you connect the houses doesn't really matter. its just how he explains the 1st house that it needs to have at least that. (certain amount of space, walls, doors, a table/workbench and a chair, and a light source. you will at the very least want the nurse, and merchant. and maybe the demolitionist, and arms dealer. though with the new update other early game NPCs will show up. like the party girl, dye trader, and painter. most of those will show up after you have 50 silver in your inventory and you have space for them. nurse and demo both require the merchant to be there. nurse also needs you to have increased your max health at least once, and demo for you to have an explosive in your inventory. all of this should happen very naturally just by playing and looting. the 1 NPC you will likely need to go out of your way for is the arms dealer. you will need to head into the corruption/crimson and break a shadow orb it either looks like a dark purple sphere (corruption) or a beating heart (crimson) the 1st one you break always contains a gun, which will trigger the arms dealer's arrival (assuming you have housing for him) however if you break 3 of those orbs it will summon a boss. so be aware of that. after that is preparing for a boss fight. the 1st and easiest one is the eye of cthulu. also be aware that it can summon itself at night if you have at least 200 health, and 4 NPCs. In general a very simple arena for a boss fight is several rows of wooden planks. this gives you plenty of open space to move around, both left and right, as well as vertically. plus it allows you to attack the boss if it goes way below you. (where as normally the ground would stop most attacks). you will also likely want to take at the very least ironskin and regeneration potions. if you havent found any you can create them. you can take empty bottles to any water and go into crafting menu to fill them up. then take one to the guide to see a full list of all the potions and how to make them. for the crafting station that makes potions you place an empty bottle on a table workbench etc. to actually summon the bosses you will need either lens dropped by the floating eyes, or the main item dropped by enemies in either the corruption or crimson. and you can take those items to the guide to see everything you need to craft it. once you have those items head over to a demon alter. (most commonly) found in the corruption/crimson. it will be a small rectangular strange object that will hurt you if you try to mine it. thats where you craft it. then once you have it you use it to summon it. it can only be used if its conditions have been met. eye of cthulu has to be at night, and the corruption/crimson bosses need to be in that biome. after that you can farm the bosses for their items make armor/gear from the ores they drop. then head into the jungle, you'll want to find an entrance (or dig one) down to the underground jungle, where there are man eaters, and hornets. and youll want to collect stingers, vines, and jungle spores, for various equipment. you can take them back to the guide or look at a wiki to get an idea of what there is to craft. the jungle armor isn't needed. and is more suited for magic based characters. but ivy whip, and thron chakrams are a must. after that is the dungeon. to get in youll need to talk to the old man outside during night time and select curse to summon sketron once you kill him you can freely enter the dungeon. while in there you'll need to collect gold keys to open gold chests. you can also use bones to make a good set of armor. once your done with the dungeon you;ll want to dig down to the underworld. just dig straight down. i usually pick a place near my base and dig a 2 block wide hole. just straight down. I throw a glowstick at my feet so i have light that follows me then just keep going til i get down to lava, at which point I do dig around it, unless i have water with me. once down there you will need to grap a hellforge, and the ore thats down there (it releases lava upon mining it) you will also want obsidian (made when water touches lava) for an accessory that makes you immune to fire blocks so you can safely mine the ore, and because you need that mixed with the hellstone ore to make it into bars for armor. sometimes the flying demons will be carrying a voodoo doll. if this falls into the lava it will kill the guide, and summon the "final boss" this is how you summon him when your ready. but until then youll want to avoid killing them when they are above lava. also when you are ready to fight the "final boss" make sure to cover the lava giving you plenty of running room as you will constantly be running to your left while fighting him. that should be plenty to get you going and give you direction. after you do all that and kill the wall of flesh is hard mode. and there is still tons more to do. but i can get into that once you get there.

any enemy in the crimson counts. its 1 in 4000. a lot of people are using the meteor spawn trick with turtle armor, so they can just go afk
I have done no grinding. I just expected not to get one, and played the game, and when I happened to get them id get them. and so far i have frost, crimson, and hallowed. only thing i dont have is corruption. which i cant get anyways

Actually, you could get the Corrupt keys by creating some corruption. Remember, you can still buy Corrupt Seeds from the Dryad during a Blood Moon. Or otherwise import some from another world. Or the Clemtaminator should have a solution for it. Whether you dungeon will spawn a Corrupt Chest for you to use it on I couldn't say.

in order to get those things I would have to go into a world that has corruption. as for the solution for cleminator id have to be in a world that has corruption during a blood moon, or solar eclipse in hardmode, after having beat a hardmode boss. and really it is not that big of a deal. im not concerned with not having it. i may end up getting it while farming for a certain other drop that only corruptors drop.

Not the seeds, or so the wiki says. Dryad still sells them on a Blood Moon.

yea if you have corruption in your world. either way I was talking about without farming. without intentionally trying for something.

I was also getting crimson rocks to make a house out of flesh >.>....<.<..., I would rather not afk farm for something.
the next step you want to do is kill the eater of world , you will need a nightmare pick( I can't remember if you need shadow scales for the pick axe ) axe and a hammer ...or dynamite. Go to the corruption and drop down some of the shafts . There should be shadow orbs at the bottom , break three of those and you will summon the eater . Killing him will give you the shadow scales you need to make shadow armor.
if you can't get the pick axe or dynamite you can use bombs also.

Yea, next step is eater of worlds. You don't need scales to make pick axe, but it is a pain to get enough without it. Just use bombs or dynamite. I prefer sticky bombs (mix gel with bombs). Gold armor should be just fine. Destroy the orbs or gather materials to summon him.

If it hasn't already been mentioned, you'll likely want a Grappling Hook if you don't have one yet. They're obtained by getting a Hook to drop from Skeletons or Piranha, and combining it with a few iron chains. Alternatively, you could get it from the Goblin Tinkerer that Jaded mentioned for a few gold. Another option is if you have, I think, 15 of any particular gem (ruby, sapphire, etc) you can now just make one with only those as of patch 1.2. While it's definitely very good to have before you enter the Underground Jungle or Dungeon, you can also make an improved one called the Ivy Whip with things from the Underground Jungle biome itself, so you might want to hold off. You'd trade the time it took to farm a Hook or the resources it costs to buy/make one, for the higher difficulty of getting around in the UJ until you can get the Whip.
